Read Along is a bilingual, level-based English reading collection designed to help secondary-school students read independently, listen carefully and understand meaning in context.
Read Along הוא אוסף סיפורים דו־לשוני ומדורג, שנועד לסייע לתלמידי חטיבת הביניים והתיכון לקרוא באופן עצמאי, להקשיב היטב ולהבין משמעות מתוך הקשר.
Read Along was initiated and developed by Simon Halevi as an educational reading environment for students with widely different levels of English. It makes meaningful reading approachable without making the subject matter childish.
The project combines independent reading, slow spoken English, visual support and help that appears only when the learner asks for it.
The collection contains original short stories for grades 7–10. Its subjects include friendship, honesty, responsibility, community assistance, fair play, inclusion, digital conduct, recovery from injury and practical environmental awareness.
The stories were selected for a conservative educational setting. They encourage discussion and judgment while maintaining respectful language, age-appropriate situations and personal dignity.
Stories gradually increase from four to six and then eight sentences. Within each age level, students choose Group A1, Group A2 or English Speakers.
A1 and A2 readers receive Hebrew meaning for each speaking unit. English Speakers meet more demanding English but receive definitions in very simple English.
Each story is presented one sentence at a time and never advances automatically. The sentence is read slowly at a rate of 0.8. Learners can open it into meaningful speaking units, hear each unit separately and reveal its meaning.

Read Along הוא מיזם שיזם ופיתח סיימון הלוי כסביבת קריאה לימודית לתלמידים בעלי רמות שונות מאוד באנגלית. מטרתו לאפשר קריאה משמעותית ונגישה, בלי להפוך את התכנים לילדותיים.
המיזם משלב קריאה עצמאית, הקראה איטית באנגלית, תמיכה חזותית ועזרה המופיעה רק כאשר הלומד מבקש אותה.
האוסף כולל סיפורים קצרים מקוריים לכיתות ז׳–י׳. הנושאים עוסקים בחברות, ביושר, באחריות, בעזרה לקהילה, בהגינות בספורט, בהכלת השונה, בהתנהלות ברשת, בהחלמה מפציעה ובמודעות סביבתית מעשית.
הסיפורים נבחרו בהתאמה למסגרת חינוכית שמרנית ושומרים על שפה מכבדת, מצבים המתאימים לגיל וכבודו של כל אדם.
אורך הסיפורים עולה בהדרגה מארבעה משפטים לשישה ולאחר מכן לשמונה. בכל שכבת גיל ניתן לבחור הקבצה א׳1, הקבצה א׳2 או דוברי אנגלית.
תלמידי א׳1 וא׳2 מקבלים משמעות בעברית לכל יחידת דיבור. דוברי האנגלית מקבלים הסברים באנגלית בסיסית מאוד.
כל סיפור מוצג משפט אחד בכל פעם ולעולם אינו מתקדם אוטומטית. המשפט מוקרא באיטיות, במהירות 0.8. הלומד יכול לפרק אותו ליחידות דיבור, לשמוע כל יחידה בנפרד ולגלות את משמעותה.
כרטיסי סיפורים מאוירים, כפתורי עזרה וקישורי חזרה מאפשרים ניווט עצמאי.
